All the good blog names are taken!
I just spent the last 30 minutes looking for a blog name that wasn't taken. I originally wanted "God Is In The TV" since media reviews will feature quite heavily here and it's a bit more clever than "Media Addict", "Media Junkie", "TV Junkie", "TV Addict", "Square Eyes", or "Media Blog" (all taken), in fact the name "All The Good Blog Names Are Taken" has even been used! And here I thought I was a pretty original person! Oh well, "This Will Be My Year" will have to do, I like the Semisonic reference and it works pretty well as a general journal style blog without a main theme, what do you think? Any better ideas?

Pretty good name, noncommittal so you're open to going in different directions if you wanted. I suppose the only criticism I could offer would be the tone of the title itself and this powdery blue background convey a sense of optimism that makes me a little nauseous. Perhaps the background could be a little a darker and might I suggest a dripping blood font for the title..."THIS WILL BE MY YEAR....of REVENGE"
ReplyDeleteHave you considered a ratings system for the media you will review yet? “Ok”, “meh”, or “Gay” seem to be how your normally describe media experiences.
Surprised the name wasn't already taken too. It is quite optimistic, but that can be tempered by considering a constant stream of disappointment that leads to thinking this every year.
ReplyDeleteDEF: Yeah I think I need to work on the colour scheme, but will save that for when I'm on my pc instead of my iPod. I haven't thought of a rating system yet, I like your suggestion but would probably add awesome at the top end.
ReplyDeletePG: I was amazed this name was free too but I suspect the number of words put people off it. I think the song is more about denial than optimism, it sounds happy at first listen but when you pay attention to the lyrics they're actually quite depressing, part of the reason I like it really!
